West Hartford Dems Endorse Slate for 2023 Election

Updated: Sep 4, 2023

On July 20, West Hartford Democratic Town Committee members endorsed candidates for Town Council, Board of Education, and Town Clerk for the 2023 municipal elections.

The Democratic Party slate for Town Council includes incumbents Shari Cantor, Carol A. Blanks, Ben Wenograd, Deb Polun, Tiffani McGinnis, and newcomer Barry Walters. For the Board of Education, the Democratic Party slate includes three first-time candidates: Jason Gagnon, LaToya Fernandez, and Shannon Marimón. Incumbent Leon Davidoff was endorsed for Town Clerk.

“West Hartford continues to receive recognition for being a great place to live, work, and raise a family," said DTC Chair John Bailey. "That is in no small part due to the leadership of our Democratic majority on Town Council and the Board of Education. Leading up to election day on November 7, our Democratic candidates and volunteers will work tirelessly across West Hartford to earn every vote."

"We are excited about our four new candidates: Barry Walters for Town Council and Jason Gagnon, LaToya Fernandez, and Shannon Marimón for Board of Education,” added DTC Vice-Chair and Town Council candidate Tiffani McGinnis. “All of these candidates bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives. If elected, we know they will listen to the community and work hard to deliver results for West Hartford residents."
