Barry Walters

Town Council

Re-Elect

Barry Walters is a Democratic candidate running for re-election to the West Hartford Town Council. With years of experience in helping people, He is committed to delivering results for our community and ensuring that West Hartford remains a great place to live, work, play, raise a family, and retire. Barry has served on the Town's Human Rights Commission and as a Town Council Zoning Alternate. He is the founder and Co-Chair of West Hartford Pride which produces one of the largest Pride events in the State of Connecticut. Barry works as a Site Director for a community-based nonprofit.

During his first term, Barry jumped right into the issues including reducing pedestrian injuries and fatalities, Center Infrastructure Plan, Smart Development, Affordability, and keeping taxes as low as possible while maintaining the services we value. None of these are going away anytime soon. These issues are persistent ones and strong leadership is needed to keep West Hartford the amazing place it is.

If Re-elected:

Barry is committed to making our town more affordable - whether it be through smart development choices that include affordable units, encouraging cost savings through innovation and "thinking outside the box" at Town Hall and BOE, and/or fighting to keep taxes as low as possible.

The safety of our residents and visitors is about as important as it gets. Whether its our streets, walkways, homes, cars, our school children, and even our pets, we must be committed to keeping our residents and visitors safe and secure. We all play a part and Barry will not shirk his responsibility in this.
